Biography

W. Shipp Daniel III is an associate attorney at Parham Law Firm, where he represents clients in criminal defense and personal injury matters. Working from the firm’s Florence and Georgetown offices, Shipp handles cases from initial consultation through trial and settlement, advocating for individuals facing criminal charges as well as those who have been injured due to the negligence of others.

Before joining Parham Law Firm in 2024, Shipp spent more than fifteen years as an Assistant Solicitor in South Carolina’s Fourth Circuit, prosecuting cases throughout Chesterfield, Darlington, Dillon, and Marlboro counties. During that time, he managed Dillon County’s criminal docket and prosecuted serious felony cases from arrest through final disposition. His experience includes extensive courtroom litigation, including numerous jury trials, as well as advising local and state law enforcement agencies on investigations and charging decisions.

In addition to his prosecutorial work, Shipp has taught at legal seminars and conferences on topics related to criminal prosecution, including trial advocacy and juvenile prosecution, sharing practical courtroom strategies and experience with fellow attorneys and prosecutors.

Shipp’s background as a career prosecutor gives him a unique perspective on how criminal cases are investigated, built, and tried. He now uses that experience to defend individuals accused of crimes and to advocate for clients who have been seriously injured in accidents. His familiarity with the strategies used by prosecutors and insurance companies allows him to anticipate challenges and develop effective legal strategies for his clients.

Prior to his work as a prosecutor, Shipp served as a law clerk to the Honorable James E. Lockemy of the South Carolina Circuit Court, where he conducted legal research, reviewed motions, and assisted in drafting judicial orders.

Shipp earned his Juris Doctor from the University of South Carolina School of Law, where he participated in Moot Court. He graduated magna cum laude from Clemson University, earning a Bachelor of Arts. While at Clemson, Shipp worked in the Sports Information Department primarily with the football and women’s basketball teams as the liaison between the teams and the media. He refereed men’s college basketball (Junior College to Division I) from 2010 to 2024.
