David Whatley
Investigator
I have served as the Criminal and Civil Investigator for Parham Law Firm since 2018, bringing decades of law enforcement, military, and investigative experience to the firm.
Prior to joining the firm, I retired from the South Carolina Highway Patrol after 29 years of dedicated service as a South Carolina State Trooper. Throughout my career, I gained extensive experience in criminal investigations, accident reconstruction, evidence collection, and courtroom testimony.
In addition to my law enforcement career, I proudly served 21 years in the South Carolina National Guard. Assigned to the 51st Rear Area Operations Center (RAOC) as an Infantry Liaison, I was deployed to Taji, Iraq, in 2004 in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. I also deployed to Panama for Operation Safe Haven in 1994. I retired from military service in 2010.
Originally from Aiken, I have called Florence home since 1989. My deep roots in South Carolina and extensive public service background provide valuable insight and perspective in my investigative work.
Outside of the office, I married my wife in 2013. I have a son and a daughter. Our family attends Ebenezer Baptist Church. I love spending time working in my yard. I love music and playing the guitar. I am also an avid cyclist who enjoys spending time outdoors and staying active in the community.
My commitment to service, integrity, and attention to detail continues to guide my work as I assist attorneys and clients in pursuing justice and achieving successful outcomes.
